Our First Tool is Live: DHCP Option 43 Generator
To kick things off, we’ve just launched our first utility: a DHCP Option 43 Generator.
So, what is it for?
In the world of networking, especially when managing certain network hardware like Ruckus, Ubiquiti, or Cisco access points, there’s a need to tell devices where their controller or management server is located on the network. DHCP Option 43 is a special setting that “points” these devices in the right direction during their initial setup.
Figuring out the correct value for this option usually involves a slightly tedious conversion to a hexadecimal format. Our new tool simplifies this process down to two easy steps:
- Enter the IP address of your controller.
- Click “Generate.”
The tool instantly provides the correct hex string, ready to be copied and pasted into your DHCP server configuration. It’s a simple, elegant solution to a common networking task.
